Champions 5 - 0 Grilled

Champions tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. They fielded: Ortega - van Wijk, Vaidhyanathan, Bejan, Göransson - Pouderoux, Pang, 世昉 (Shifang), Ah De, Tse Jian - Ütkün.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players had been chosen: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan), Filippone - Lee Hao, Shun An, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, Ping Shun - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang), Ying Lee.

For their match strategy, Champions had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Champions's A. Vaidhyanathan tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, F. Ah De scored for Champions putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 24 minutes. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Champions's B. van Wijk increasing the lead to 2 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Champions were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 32 minutes played, Champions's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to A. Ütkün he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 0. Champions's F. Ah De got himself booked for a foul. Z. Jing Wei had a couple of good opportunities to reply after getting through the middle of the opposition defence, but the home team's keeper E. Ortega was simply unbeatable. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Grilled had a fair chance to reply after 47 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end Z. Jing Wei was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. The goal to make it 4 - 0 was scored by F. Ah De after 48 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Champions. Champions put themselves up 5 - 0 when F. Ah De broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for F. Ah De. The crowd roared its approval when E. Ortega somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Grilled's Z. Jing Wei 57 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. The referee showed Champions's A. Pang the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Good work by the Champions defensive line after 71 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found B. Pouderoux alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. M. bin Mohd Kassim nearly reduced the lead 85 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by E. Ortega prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.

A. Ütkün performed admirably for Champions. S. Göransson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly 田. 勇航 (Yonghang). However, G. Filippone made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
