Shettar Slip
The Birds might have outclassed their opponents, but the going was rather tougher for the Farmer Bunnies against Colombian hosts QQTA FC.... New boy
Herman Sasaki was indeed greatly improved from his disastrous turnout for old team Dike Coyotes, only for him to find Ricardo Bernal a level above. Fortunately, Bernal would put both his open chances in the first half wide.
The second half saw some well-worked counterattacks from the Bunnies, which however were wasted by bad finishing. It took a novice mistake from veteran Pierluigi Filipponi to let
Edward Ong in, but the Bunnies would eventually endure the same heartbreak as the Birds, as an exhausted
Gagan Shettar could not keep up with Bernal when QQTA surged forward with three minutes remaining.
Farmer Bunnies head coach
Elias van Dal felt that his team deserved more than a draw, given that it was
Goh Guang Xin's shot coming off the woodwork that gave QQTA their last-gasp opportunity. "Our fitness is not really up to par." van Dal admitted. "It's a consequence of the skills focus that we are currently adopting."
