Grilled 2 - 4 Champions

Dark skies made the crowd of 60801 at The Cooking Pot a little nervous, but the rain held off. Oralcan 'Shovav Gadol' Yetim was the appointed referee with assistance provided by João Germano Cruz Neves and Harri Maijala. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Jurong derby and the crowd was divided evenly. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. They fielded: Rykowski - Meyer, Filippone - Ping Shun, Lee Hao, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang).

Champions tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Ortega - Göransson, Bejan, Vaidhyanathan, Galambas - Tse Jian, 世昉 (Shifang), Ah De, Pang, Budai - Ütkün.

Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Champions clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Champions played a good counterattacking move down the left 4 minutes into the match, with A. Ütkün finishing well for 0 - 1. Some fine movement on the left led to a Champions goal after 17 minutes, making it 0 - 2. A. Pang was noted down as the scorer. Grilled's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 25 minutes into the match as C. Ying Lee ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. On any other day, W. Ping Shun's free kick would have found the back of the net to tie the game for Grilled, but not today - the visitors' keeper displayed extraordinary reflexes as he blocked the shot harmlessly to the side. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

53 minutes in, and Grilled were able to score the equalising goal to make it 2 - 2 when G. Filippone picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. The visiting A. Tse Jian was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 59 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. With 62 minutes played, Champions put themselves up 2 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was A. Vaidhyanathan. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) . K. Rykowski turned in a dismal performance, however. Champions's top performer was clearly A. Ütkün. E. Galambas was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
