Siong Swiss Days
Rancher Rabbits lad Wu Siong Kum was handed the No. 50 shirt of Swiss seventh division club Dynamo Sapün today by Spanish head coach Alcadio Lavado, as the Bunnies accepted a S$70000 offer for the silky dribbler.
Rabbits scout Yip De Da was glad to see the 18 year-old Wu find an employer. "He was a real crowd-puller with the youth side, and it would have been a travesty had he not at least been given an opportunity to display his tricks as a professional. We were getting anxious after a few weeks of no replies, and then it came together."
FK Mipol Jablonec (Czech Division Five) and FC Stehschläfer (German Division Eight) were also eager for Wu, with the winger admitting to being drawn by Jablonec's pedigree, but was in the end won over by the prospects at Sapün.
"They have a comprehensive roadmap for trainees in play, and Mr. Lavado assured me that there would be many places opening up." Wu revealed.
No such luck for Chicken Wings academy graduate Ishak Jahid, sadly, as the backup playmaker declared his intention to enrol as a private A-level candidate. "It's recreational football for me in future, I'm afraid."
