VossenBurcht For Lim
Former Pre Champions FC defender
Lim Rong Su bid farewell to Farmer Bunnies after slightly more than two seasons with the club, as Antwerp-based Belgian Division Seven club De VossenBurcht picked up a S$1.22 million tab for the 19 year-old, who has coincidentally made that many starts for the Bunnies. Division Six fc valensignes of the same country too made a bid, but were outdone.
Lim, who scored the winner in his second-last appearance in the Cup against Hanns, had not featured in the lineup for some time, after handing in his transfer request.
Elias van Dal however denied that his absence had anything to do with the gesture.
"We have never made it a secret of being a developmental side, and are only too happy to have our players continue on professionally elsewhere." the head coach explained. "It was just that we had several promising new youngsters coming in this period, and Lim sort of got lost in the shuffle."
It will however be back to the drawing board for the Bunnies' inaugural Young Player of the Season
Chow Pin Yeng, who has had some unofficial enquiries, but is yet to attract a solid offer.
