Mideast Movements
Two Farmer Bunnies trainees would find employers in the Middle East today, with 18 year-old central defender Alvin Fu to play for Israeli Division Six club FC++ Pythons. Peretz Holtzberg had run a tight ship with only a handful of incoming signings in his first full season, and Fu's transfer came as something of a surprise to their supporters.
For Alvin, who had a pending offer from downtown outfit HatT SG, it was a chance to see the world. "Making it as a footballer in an international league - that was always my dream." he declared. "I'll make the most of this."
Attacking player Poon Chao Ze, just turned seventeen, would concurrently sign for Dubai's Mamzaranense on a free, becoming the newly-formed fourth division side's first import. "I view this as an excellent platform to express myself."
Rancher Rabbits head scout Yip De Da congratuled the duo, but did not avoid dishing out some advice too. "Alvin has great speed for a centreback, but he has relied on it maybe a bit too much - and there's no time to waste if he wants to catch up on his positioning sense, given that he came to the sport late."
"As for Poon, he's been a delight to coach, but he probably needs to tie down a favourite role soon, whether on the wings or in attack. Versatility is one thing, but he could do better with working out a few reliable high-percentage moves at this stage."
