Grilled 1 - 0 Vulturii S

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 20655 at Love Street Stadium today. Yuli Ognyanov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Reza van Zweden and Namiq Əzizov. The match took place on neutral ground. Grilled's lineup was: Germanakos - Hutter, 其材 (Qicai) - Ferzan, An Keng, Keng Chuan, Trindade, Parada - Chitre, Ming Xin, La Face.

Vulturii S fielded: Pak - Chatripour, Kriviec, Brant, Bulionis, Jeavons - Tzaribashev, Amin Safwan, Sinimäki, Quenga, Bonfatti -.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 5-5-0. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+3) (23) level with that tactic. Vulturii S was determined to use their brilliant (11) long shot ability. Making his way up the middle 21 minutes into the match, Federico Parada almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Erwin Pak blocked it to keep the score level. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Evandro La Face, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 57 percent of the ball.

Evandro La Face could have increased the lead after 48 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Vulturii S focused on finding shooting opportunities from distance and after 49 minutes Dobri Tzaribashev fired off the big cannon, but the shot went sailing over the cross bar and into the car park. Despite hurting his left foot at the 62 minute mark, Franco Kriviec decided to keep playing. Grilled's Federico Parada saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 66 minutes. Lim An Keng should probably have put his team up another goal after 71 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Erwin Pak kept the visitors in the game. After 76 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Evandro La Face might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Erwin Pak made a spectacular save. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Phua Ming Xin reluctantly made way for Gústav Thoroddsen on the pitch. The match ends 1 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Aw Keng Chuan performed admirably for Grilled. Damian Hutter turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Vulturii S player was without a doubt Joonatan Sinimäki. Erwin Pak on the other hand, had a terrible day.
