Singapore 0 - 4 Grilled

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 53526 had shown up at Singa Arena for the match. Koen Blumer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Juha-Pekka Barbala and Mihály Podmaniczky. The match took place on neutral ground. The following players had been chosen: Ascanio - Zalasiński, Špago, Halm - Koelewijn, Guelfo, Ganguly, Gazda, Szymonis - Beard, Mitroglou.

They fielded: Dob - Webb, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Seng, Mottl - Xin Lee, Davlatov, Parvathaneni.

Sporting Singapore fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. The terraces were silenced after 8 minutes when Grilled's Chan Ze Han put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Grilled's Vikram Mudaliar was shown a yellow card after 20 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Cyril Künzler could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. The home crowd cheered when, after 25 minutes, Moey Xin Seng's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. With the scoreboard showing that 26 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after Kalki Parvathaneni came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Prokop Mottl was, after 31 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Adrián Ascanio made the save. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bilal Mohammad Harun came on for Islom Davlatov. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bhavya Panigrahi entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. After 60 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Bilal Mohammad Harun a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. Chu Xin Lee increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. Diamantis Mitroglou tried to get a goal back for Singapore but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. After 78 minutes, Grilled's Bilal Mohammad Harun burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 0 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Singapore's best player was Diamantis Mitroglou. However, Norbert Szymonis made a disastrous appearance. Kalki Parvathaneni performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, Prokop Mottl's play was disheartening.
