Ropelearner 4 - 5 Grilled

35938 spectators had come to Impossibility Camp this cloudy day. Kevin Bonner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Flo Orosz and Iso Aljoski. The derby had been the talk of Jurong all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. The following players had been chosen: Milelli - Marburg, Widzyk, D'hoedt, Güner, 军正 (Junzheng) - Bejczi, Gém, Dioguardi, Grgeč - Eszik.

They fielded: Batâr - 中北 (Nakakita), Trung Quá - Künzler, Muthyala, 入江 (Irie), Saliman, Romijn - Xin Seng, Davlatov, Parvathaneni.

Ropelearner FC started the game in a 5-4-1 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Ropelearner focused on getting players in position for long range shots, taking advantage of their divine (+6) level with that tactic. Instead of playing a 50/50 ball into the penalty area, Ropelearner's Jean-Félix D'hoedt skipped past the marking defender and passed the ball to Dániel Bejczi who finished it off from distance. The keeper could only stand and watch as the hard shot hit the underside of the cross bar, and in to make it 1 - 0 with 3 minutes played. The crowd was silenced 4 minutes into the match as the visiting team's Cyril Künzler came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Given a free kick close to the byline, Ropelearner tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let Gianluca Dioguardi slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 1, 10 minutes into the game. It was obvious that Ropelearner set up their play to get a shooter in position, and after 23 minutes they succeeded with their tactics when Marijan Grgeč found a hole in the defence and his long shot left the keeper without a chance. 3 - 1. The referee showed Ropelearner's Koray Güner the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Kalki Parvathaneni was in no condition to play on. 24 minutes into the game he left the field on a stretcher, with his right thigh bandaged, and crying out in pain. The player that took his place was Prokop Mottl. The visitors got one back when Neeraj Muthyala finished off a pass from the left and scored after 29 minutes. 3 - 2 was the score. Halftime score was 3 - 2. Ropelearner had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

With 46 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Chan Ze Han came on, 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) had to leave the fray. 48 minutes into the game Grilled's 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 3 - 3. The head of Florus Romijn connected with a corner kick after 50 minutes, and the ball ended up with Hoàng Trung Quá of Grilled who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 3 - 4. Koray Güner made a superb strike after 59 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. The visitors' Moey Xin Seng took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 61 minutes into the match. 3 - 5 for Grilled. Grilled's Prokop Mottl made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 63 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Ropelearner succeeded with their tactics after 70 minutes faking a cross into the penalty area, but instead passing a short side pass back to Jean-Félix D'hoedt who met the ball directly with his outstretched foot. The hard long shot touched the keeper's finger tips, but it wasn't enough to stop it from going in. 4 - 5. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 5. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ropelearner, with 54 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Ropelearner player was without a doubt Marijan Grgeč. Jean-Félix D'hoedt on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was Mohammad Ramli Saliman. However, Hoàng Trung Quá made a disastrous appearance.
