Grilled 4 - 2 Flames

The 81617 fans in attendance at The Cooking Pot were roasting in the hot sun. Mark Landzaat was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cris Vintiadis and Włodzimierz Malcherczyk. Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Tian Han - Shun An, 福泉 (Fuquan) - Ping Shun, Meyer, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Flames started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Wiles - Tufeanu, Zolich, Strandheim - Rajeczki, Schafrath, Van Dyck, Trémoulet, Kärkkäinen - Stetson, Lakatos.

Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle. 12 minutes into the match, Flames's A. Kärkkäinen demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to E. Lakatos who chipped it in for 0 - 1. After 17 minutes, C. Meyer made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. They were singing the praises of 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) 18 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Grilled. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's C. Ying Lee increasing the lead to 3 - 1. By now, the players in Grilled felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 3 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, L. Lee Hao came on for L. Aik Jia. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their player M. Tufeanu reduced the lead to make it 3 - 2 after 59 minutes, following a pass from the right. Grilled's C. Ying Lee had an excellent opportunity after 67 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! The intense heat forced C. Ying Lee into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile E. Lakatos. J. Pozo was called on to replace Flames's E. Lakatos after 81 minutes following a nasty collision. With E. Lakatos no longer on the pitch, N. Schafrath became the new set pieces taker. 朱. 长春 (Changchun) could have increased the lead after 83 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave C. Ying Lee from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 84 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The bench was restless, and with 85 minutes passed Flames's coach gave Q. Debert the opportunity the player had been hoping for. N. Schafrath reluctantly left the field. N. Schafrath was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that P. Strandheim got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Flames's J. Pozo got himself booked for a foul. With 87 minutes played, the Flames coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. S. Temmerman came on, L. Rajeczki had to leave the fray. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Z. Jing Wei squirmed through their central defence after 88 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 2. G. Van Dyck nearly reduced the lead 89 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by W. Tian Han prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Grilled's top performer was clearly 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) . On the other hand, W. Shun An's play was disheartening. The most dominating Flames player was without a doubt R. Stetson. M. Trémoulet on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 2.
