Brightness After Dark

Tian Yonghang bemoaned three wasted points from today's outing, but gave Mayuyu AKB48 proper credit regardless. "This was one that we should have taken easily on paper, but it was Mayuyu who were up for it. If we had to learn this lesson, we might as well get it over with early in the season."

Tian refused to use the cup fixture against Haha - which went to penalties - as an excuse. "Few of our guys were that involved in both games, and it is not like we are that far into the campaign yet. It was a pity for Brian Reddy, he really should have gotten a win on his league debut."

This had the Birds plunge down to fourth, with Phantasm Hotspurs shooting to the top on the back of a 7-1 wailing on Sunrise Treasure FC. Next would be Controlar, who smashed tpyers 5-1, and then Shadow Chaser(R) SC, aftheir their 1-1 draw against Krattene, who saved a point late on through Zakariyya Mohd Syamsuddin.

It was a point saved for Farmer Bunnies against Brighton UK, who were frustrated by Ho Ah Kian's equalizer in injury time, after sitting on Herkules Andersson's 36th minute lead on his sprint past Lau Keng Kwang all the while. It had been a very tetchy end to the game before that, with Toh Eng Guang dismissed with three minutes remaining, for a heavy collision with former U-20 star Abdul Halim Fikri, which damanged the latter's right wrist.

Still, this was enough to keep the Buns on top of III.9 as that league's only unbeaten side remaining, with WhiteSandsMechs edged by a Luo Wencai strike for a revitalized Mangrove Pittas, right as Romanian veteran Bogdan Sigmund suffered a fractured rib. Really McCoys and FC Phondle climbed up the table too, after a 3-0 versus FC Jurong Rovers, and a 6-0 against AFC Woodlands, respectively.

The Buns will be expected to stay on top with a visit to the rudderless AFC Woodlands next, with the McCoys and Phondle having a tough one against each other. "If there are any easy points, I want us to secure them." head coach Vishnu Tallapaka said.

No surprises for Grilled International, who had Chua Jun Long record a fifth career hat-trick, in their 8-0 flattening of Germany's Baboon Show St. Pauli. Umut Koza added two to join Chua and AC Rabissale's Anfinnur Næs at the top of the scoring stakes with five apiece, in what has been a great start to the season for International with eighteen goals scored and none conceded thus far.

With a trip to Amelinho Kickers up next, however, the squad knows that the season will only truly begin then. "I think we are ready." defender Phua Li Kong insisted. "It's time to get serious about going up the divisions again!"
