Total Wipeout
The magnitude of the task before the star-shorn Birds would be shown in full on the second day of the Supporter Week Trophy, as they lost all three of their fixtures. Despite that,
Bhavya Panigrahi would manage to score in all of them, helped by two penalties being awarded. First to pile on the pain would be Spanish Division Six outfit Çaharate Kirol, who won 4-2 with 19 year-old forward Alberto de Valdeorras finding two good goals, after
Chia Kwang Tse had done well himself to sneak through the central defence to open in the 32nd minute.
Romanian striker Alexandru Macoviciuc was next to bag a brace against
Manuel Vadalà, this time in a 1-4 win for Danish fifth divisioners 140159 MEMORANDUM PLHP 817. This would turn out to be
Chu Xin Lee's final appearance for Grilled, with
Moey Xin Seng dropped to midfield and
Mohd Marzuki Khairul coming in for the next match versus Canadian IV.60 Consolation Cup holders Elmira Kings. Chia and Panigrahi would again be on target, only to be overshadowed for Finnish poacher Roi Laine in a 6-2 result.
This leaves Grilled Birds at 24503rd, as head coach
Tian Yonghang expressed hope that
Chan Ze Han would be able to turn things about, when the league restarts for real. "On the bright side, Chia seems to be bedding in well too."
The Buns for their part would be unbeaten today, as they began with a tight 1-0 over Belgian Division Six club R.C. Oskarito del Vozzko.
Billy Camperio found the winner in the 40th minute, as
Djoko Tambusai's welcome aggression translated into a won header at a corner. While not quite strong or well-aimed enough to get past goalkeeper Tomasz Tarnawski, it was good enough not to be caught, and Camperio was there.
Draws against French sixth divisioners Euskal Team and San Marino III.14 representatives vv Melissant followed, with
Vishnu Tallapaka scoring a twenty-yarder free-kick in the former, only for Frenchman Éric Giraudeau to equalize from a classic right-sided cross. No goals were to be gotten against Melissant, and they held out despite Andrea De Giorgi getting sent off towards the end of the first half. That brought perhaps Farmer Bunnies' best chance of the day, a vicious
Tham Leng Teck piledriver that came back off the post.
That had the Buns in 14927th with a neutral 2-3-2 record, with Grilled International dropping to 7137th on 4-0-3 after a difficult second day. They were perhaps unfortunate to suffer two close losses to start off with, the first against two-time Trinidad & Tobago Challenger Cup winners Trocadero IF. The II.4 side won 4-3, despite a massive effort from
Chua Jun Long, who somehow got two goals after replacing
Hardi bin Besar in the 70th minute.
That didn't convince
Didi Reidenbach to start him in the next match, though Hardi did prove his worth by opening in the eighth minute against Spanish sixth divisioners Keltoi Vigo. It was
Ragib Banović's turn to do the lifting with a thunderous second-half hat-trick, but it remained insufficient as Keltoi got six goals, to shade it 6-5.
International finally had the measure of Belgian V.33 side Megacyma in the last game, with
Osertz Indurain's early brace answered in kind.
Ragib Banović's delightful chip in the 32nd minute finally broke their resistance, however, and it would be all International's show after that, as they added five without reply.
