Xie Rides Luck
Seventeen year-old aspiring playmaker Xie Wei Tian transferred to Pulau Ubin freshies Good Luck FC on a free, as only their second signing after b3happ9!'s Xander Yi. Xie had considered joining Ng Jian Sze at HatT Football Club, but ultimately decided to strike out on his own.
Chief scout Tham Beng Li supported Xie's decision. "As a St. Xavier's FC's affiliate, Good Luck FC's commitment towards developing players is not in doubt. There aren't many better places that Xie could have gone locally."
Tham didn't mince words on the youngster's abilities, however. "Personally, it's doubly appropriate, as Xie's been very fortunate. To say it bluntly, his touch and technique may be first class, but his conditioning and general physical attributes leave a lot to be desired. It's up to him to catch up in those respects, and he won't have too much time."
