Min Chu To VeneziaMestre
Grilled International trainee midfielder Lim Min Chu was taken on by Italian fifth division club FC VeneziaMestre for a token consideration today, claiming the Number Two shirt. Rejected by the club he supported as a youth, FC Brunei oilers, Lim would later impress Busy Bees coach Adinath Pant, and would become good enough that he began his search for a professional contract weeks before graduating from the academy.
The job hunt would yield preliminary offers from Fumetas de la Pobla (Spain Division Seven) and NORTE F.C. (Peruvian Division Four), but it was Italy that beckoned most invitingly. Newly-installed head coach Igli Caprari had been planning a clean sweep of sorts, and the past week has seen no less than six regulars shipped out, including the wide pair of Edi Vadljak and Gabriel Zamfirescu to ta bom!.
Lim was remembered as something of a loose cannon on the pitch, by his Busy Bees comrades. "You'd stand next to him, and never be quite sure what he was going to pull that day." longtime midfielder partner Tan Ming Ho said. "It could be pure frustration, but it also made life interesting!"
