One Of Everything

The Birds won, drew and lost on the final day of the Trophy of Legends, to conclude with a 5-2-3 record. German sixth division side Celtic Coburg FC allowed them a cracker of a start, with Chan Ze Han and Kalki Parvathaneni reprising their early-tournament form, to share three goals between them in a 5-1 whupping.

Grilled would then have to come from behind against Austrian Division Four Ruetzimuetzi, who went 2-0 up by the 28th minute, after a soft penalty converted by Radoslav Pudich was followed by Octave Van Nieuwenhuyse's pinpoint grounder. Cyril Künzler led he comeback as he assisted both Florus Romijn and Kalki Parvathaneni with homing crosses, and Neeraj Muthyala then put the Birds in the lead with a piledriver from wide left. Unfortunately, Van Nieuwenhuyse would secure his team a point, from a 62nd minute corner.

Belgian Division Four winners Dreamteam United then reminded Grilled of how far they had to go, as they gave the Birds almost no openings at all, in a 4-0 whitewash. Massoud Dob couldn't catch a break here, with Dreamteam executing their early free-kicks perfectly for a quick two-goal advantage, while fullback Immanuel Van Rietvelde gave free rein to his instincts in the second half.

Buns shared the same fate, narrowly losing 1-2 to former Teselli Kupası holders Epistemik İdman Yurdu in their first game. Enzo Paolo Panzarino found the net in the eighth minute off a mazy dribble in their box, but Büyük EİY had too much quality on the wings, and won it through Erkan Gültekin in the 79th minute.

A relatively staid one-all against Brazilian fourth division club Boca Juniors da Gama later, the Buns ended on a high against Romanian Division Five challengers Zamolxe-Club, with Morgan Hu opening on a rain-sogged pitch. Panzarino polished off a fine counter just before the break, and Lau Chang Wan arrowed two in after that, with Giacomo Pillon's industry allowing Zamolxe-Club to claw it back to 1-4.

Grilled International won twice and drew once, beginning with an entertaining 3-2 against Spanish Division Six side The chichos, in which Micky bin Kadir and Soo Kiong Yau scored braces to race them to a 4-1 lead. Antonio Revuelta and Lluís Molist gave International something to think about, as they feasted upon complacent defending to pull two back, but Querubim Santos Couto ultimately held it together.

A 2-2 against Romania's Cloud Connected followed, as they managed despite the hot-headed Massimiliano Casali's dismissal in the 36th minute for persistent dissent; Casali's fellow defensive trainee Bertrand Cormier got the equaliser with just two minutes remaining, having eyed Bolivian captain Kony Cucurullo's through pass correctly.

They then signed off with a six-nil rout of fellow Hattrick International club FC.ROMANIA, who were all but clueless as they lumbered in a static 4-4-2. Wang Hanxuan and Safari bin Hj Jali made it 4-0 by the 49th minute, leaving Tommy Dongelmans and then Soo Kiong Yau to wrap things up.
