Kopping Mottl
There appears no end to
Djan Bacelar's buying spree, as he signed the Birds' first Czech player, 17 year-old
Prokop Mottl, to an apprentice contract. A cultured withdrawn forward, Mottl had also caught the fancy of Brazil's Miliunas City F.C., and it took a S$372000 offer for Kilika Beats to release him to Grilled.
Bacelar felt that, while seeming high, the price was more than right given Mottl's rare properties. "He's got the sort of special sense for the game, that you can't really train into a person. Former Eerste Klasse club Real Sammynova were also sniffing about, which should tell you something."
And that was not the extent of Mottl's suitors either, with PUMAS TLAXCALA F.C. (Mexico Division Five) and Porkham (Swedish Division Five) in negotiations with Kilika Beats too. Thailand-based international league side Surin City FC were reportedly very close to an agreement, before Grilled and Miliunas expressed their interest.
Mottl will not have long to settle in, as Bacelar expressed his intent to field him in tomorrow's league game against sealion. "It's no time to coddle our new guys. We picked them for ambition as much as anything, and I don't see why they should have to wait to show it."
