Dante Tran obtained a coveted trainee contract with the senior side this day, which came as something of a surprise to the youth team's followers. The general consensus has been that Tran has not quite done enough to command a squad place with the Birds, but the coaches evidently saw something in him that the others missed.
The playmaker, who picked 44 as his number, had evidently not expected it to happen either, but was more than happy to put his polytechnic studies on hold. "It was not like my scores were looking too great, either." he admitted sheepishly.
