19 year-old Chicken Wings apprentice defender Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid was granted a short-term contract with the senior side today, with a view towards providing cover at the back. Djan Bacelar revealed that the initial term would be for two seasons, with an option to extend depending on performance.

Mohd Jafni, who takes over the Number 33 jersey last worn by Swedish centreback Björn Olsson, was simply thrilled to rub shoulders with his idols on the training pitch. "I grew up watching Mohd Safri and Tian Yonghang every weekend." he enthused. "I never expected to be able to become one of their teammates!"

Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim was broadly appreciative, when informed of the rookie's thoughts. "Well, that's nice... damn, now I feel old."
