Former national youth midfielder Lee Lee Hao had two multi-time third division winners vying for his services, and would ultimately depart for Frankfurt-based Hochhemmer Chaosclub, in a transfer worth S$2.6 million. Notable Lisbon club AC Mira-Sintra was his other main option.

The move brings an end to Lee's six-season and 85-match association with Grilled, and head coach Djan Bacelar had only good things to say about the famously individualistic 33 year-old.

"Lee was a professional through and through." Bacelar praised. "Rafael Arias Díaz is building a hugely experienced squad at Hochhemmer, and I would not be surprised if Lee plays a big role in their push back to Division Two."
