IKram OKays Move
Maltese third division club IFK Promp unearthed a bargain today, as they signed current Grilled Birds Young Player of the Season Zaman Syarif Thamin IKram for a song. IKram will become part of Turkish head coach Hasan Yeğin's shakeup that has seen countryman Atik Can and Italian Andrea Giuseppe Arcuri arrive today, even as four former trainees depart.
With Kimyonlu Cigerspor (Turkish Division Six) the only other side to submit an official bid, IKram's discoverer Tham Beng Li could not help but be disappointed at his S$6000 price-tag. "The lad's a very decent forward - maybe not a world-beater, but he can go places." the Wings scout declared. "The market's very tight nowadays, I'd say."
Zaman himself was just grateful to get a foot into the professional ranks, in contrast, having questioned his suitability for a career in the sport after being rebuffed by Toraja Kid. "Snagging a contract was the whole point, and IFK Promp have shown that they care plenty about development. They seem a very good fit for me."
