Mystery Unraveled

One of the biggest puzzles to hang over the club was solved today, as an elderly fan mentioned in passing to a club official that he had tracked all of Grilled's transfer dealings since its inception, having known an acquaintance working in the club's office then; the official records had long since been lost in reorganization.

This has allowed Grilled to recover at least the names of every single one of the youth players whom it had moved on, and moreover shed light on the enigmatic goalkeeper whom arrived in Singapore on a free transfer in the first week of Grilled's existence, only never to show up at the club.

A few tickled fans have made sporadic attempts to learn his identity, even going as far as to write to contacts in Mexico, but were stymied by the dissolution of his original club, known only as Team Mex.

"His name is Américo Holgado, and he's very probably Mexican." English forward Tim Hobson, one of the few remaining who dates from that era, revealed. "And if you're reading this, please, do drop by for a cuppa. We've long forgiven you by now."
