Grilled 6 - 0 Roses
3800 punters turned up at
The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Ragnar Beitisson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bendt Lang and
Cesar Menotti. The following players took the field for Grilled:
Law -
Hutter,
其材 (Qicai) -

田宮 (Tamiya) -
Kwang Tse,

2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. With 6 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
Mohd Marzuki Khairul flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Cheers filled the stadium as
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Grilled. 29 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Chad Thach broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Grilled. Roses's
Michalis Mpalamoutidis was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 39 minutes.
Chad Thach could have increased the lead after 41 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 42 minutes into the match,
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Radovan Jaška came on for
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya). With
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) no longer on the pitch,
Radovan Jaška took over free kick duty. 47 minutes into the match, the technically gifted
Gandhik Chitre of Grilled scored 4 - 0, having made
Amado Luís Costa look like a complete fool. Roses's
Micah Lynshue got himself booked for a foul. With 69 minutes played,
Gandhik Chitre could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Lim An Keng after 72 minutes. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 73 minutes, Grilled tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. Grilled solidified their lead at the 75 minute mark, as
Chad Thach dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Gandhik Chitre reluctantly made way for
Teo Chuan Yong on the pitch. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Radovan Jaška from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 6 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chia Kwang Tse.
Radovan Jaška on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Swen Endredine performed admirably for Roses.
Tars De Vos was a disappointment, however.
