Singapore 3 - 2 Grilled

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 60352 that came out to The Pragmatic Elegant Next-gen Intricate Stadium. Ondrej Válkovec was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ronny 'Technoboy' Tøsse and Przemysław Knebel. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. The match took place on neutral ground. Singapore's starters: Kirov - Dosman, Yeng Hock, Kolnyshevskiy, Sewgolam - MacPatrick, Naik, Kočo, Burcică, Almeida Magalhães - Veerma.

The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Germanakos - Mangoye, Hutter - Baena, Khairul, Keng Chuan, Teck Fu, Trindade - Chitre, Ming Xin, Balde.

Singapore Red Dragons entered the field in a 4-5-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled demonstrated their magnificent (12) creative tactics on the field. Singapore's Radu Burcică made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 35 minutes into the match. Singapore took the lead 40 minutes in, as Robert Veerma broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The score became 2 - 0 at 41 minutes into the game, when Singapore were given a penalty which Berik Dosman blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Grilled were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 60 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to Gandhik Chitre, who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1. After 76 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 2 - 2 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by Aw Keng Chuan. Singapore took the lead after 80 minutes as a result of Berik Dosman's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2. Ibnou Balde would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Kalki Parvathaneni entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 58 percent of the ball.

Singapore's best player was Robert Veerma. Elias Almeida Magalhães turned in a dismal performance, however. Aw Keng Chuan performed admirably for Grilled. Atang Mangoye was a disappointment, however.
