Radu Burcică made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 35 minutes into the match. Singapore took the lead 40 minutes in, as
Robert Veerma broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The score became 2 - 0 at 41 minutes into the game, when Singapore were given a penalty which
Berik Dosman blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
Grilled were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 60 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
Gandhik Chitre, who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1. After 76 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 2 - 2 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
Aw Keng Chuan. Singapore took the lead after 80 minutes as a result of
Berik Dosman's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2.
Ibnou Balde would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Kalki Parvathaneni entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 2.
