Kumar Goes Comandito
Former Chicken Wings trainee Sannath Kumar was snagged by Peruvian Division Four side Comandito SVR on a free today, after the wingman wowed them in a practice match. He officially joined on the same day as China's Fan Yongyu, who hails from Xizhang club mountain hawk.
Kumar was no stranger to grabbing chances, having had to put himself forward for a second trial with the Wings, upon being rejected on his first try. Attending scout Lim Hock Puay saw something in the youngster, and he soon made the Number Eighteen shirt his own, with his proudest moment coming with a hat-trick in a 7-0 youth league victory over MEBLong time no see.
Whether he will be deployed in an out-and-out attacking role with Comandito remains to be seen, with there being hints that Kergailas Alubauskas views him more as an advanced fullback. Not that it matters much to the 17 year-old. "I'd play at keeper if that's what it takes!"
