Au, Mubarak Depart
Farmer Bunnies defenders
Au Pin How and
Isa Mubarak have left for pastures new, after spending a couple of months on furlough. The 20 year-olds had been on extended leave in Europe trying out with various clubs, and their endeavour has been rewarded with professional contracts.
Au, a former B Champions FC alumnus who had already had a short stint in Sweden, found himself headed back to Scandinavia. Finnish Division Five side Sparraajat laid out S$1.1 million, putting them ahead of East Burma (Armenian Division Two) and The Blue Alliance (Danish Division Five).
Isa Mubarak for his part drew a round million bucks from Bosnian Division Five club FK Centar Sarajevo, who are making a push for the next level after finishing as runners-up in their last campaign.
"It's a new approach to marketing our players." head coach
Elias van Dal commented. "I would have thought a lot harder about missing two of our top defenders for such a length of time, but in this case, it was pretty clear that we were going back down no matter what."
As the transfers have opened up the Number Two and Three jerseys, newly-crowned Young Player of the Season
Tham Leng Teck and promising former Ropelearner FC trainee
Brendan Leung will take the opportunity to fill the prime real estate up.
