Lu Lapped Up
The calvary has finally arrived, with the Birds securing
lu Zunwen's transfer from Titus Titanium IV in a S$5.4 million move. The local midfielder attracted huge attention both here and overseas, with sides such as Tukker terror (Dutch Division Five), FISHLIME (Chinese Division Two), FC-BERG (Slovakian Division Six), SL Bolachas (Portuguese Division Six), Eintracht Mendig (German Division Seven) and MAS PACHARAN F.C. (Spanish Division Five) in serious contention.
Lu was scarcely less popular on the home front, with clubs such as Tele Fone FC, league leaders heimu XI and Division Three long-timers Dream Seals in for the 23 year-old. Tele Fone FC would later settle for Lu's 24 year-old clubmate Lee Chee Rong for S$7.3 million.
Han proudly presented Lu to the press an hour after the deal was concluded, with the club confident enough in his fitness to skip the medical. "Lu has pledged his long-term future with Grilled, and we likewise promise the best training and facilities we can offer to him. If all goes well, he will be a fixture in our midfield for a long time to come."
Lu, holding up the Number 6 jersey that was Gleb Dorogan's until recently, nodded vigorously in response, as Han brushed aside concerns that he had been below his best for some time now. "We are in for quality, and Lu has it in spades. There are absolutely no concerns over his form."
