Three Off
The S&S partnership came to an end almost before it got started, as
Safri bin Mohamad was signed by Division Three club Sengkang Mariners for S$6.25 million, using funds from divesting themselves of former Iranian national forward Oktay Uruş and talented Italian youth Eduardo Corvino, in Grilled's tenth largest sale of all time.
Safrinho was given his favoured Number Ten jersey upon arrival, and pronounced himself honoured to take over such an illustrious predecessor. "I cannot ask for more than to lead the line on a regular basis at this stage of my career, something that the Mariners can offer." Safrinho said. "Sengkang have nurtured the likes of Zhang Erwen and Lee Puay Wen well, and I am sure they will do the same for me."
Safrinho achieved a very decent return of nineteen goals in thirty competitive showings for Grilled, along with eleven in friendlies, and most of his teammates are of the opinion that he will shine with his new club. "Top scorer even, maybe."
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim predicted.
Grilled accepted a joint bid for fringe players
Ivaylo Mirchev and
Lee Han Lai from Dutch Division Eight team shiva ruturns, but Mirchev eventually took up an offer from Spanish Division Ten side Deportivo castrobo. Both clubs are newly formed, which suits their new employees just fine.
"I look forward to the new challenge." Bulgarian 33 year-old
Ivaylo Mirchev, who will likely link up with Argentine journeyman Américo Rubén Andretich, said simply, as his fifteen season long association with the Birds came to an end.
"Well, it's a different birthday for sure." Lee, who turns 22 today, added.
