Lim Shun Jin turned from midfielder to goalkeeper for a role in the team, and this dedication has seen the 23 year-old win a spot at German Division Eight side Foppes Duisburg on a free transfer.
He will be joined by Malaysian Mah Xin Beng and four others poached on the cheap by Duisburg, on a day that they sold defender Ascenso Melrinho to Aufbau Parchim for over S$3 million, one of six first-teamers to make an exit at the tailend of a poor run-in.
Lim needed no prodding to swear that he will cherish this opportunity. "There were those who said that I had no future in the game, and this is just my first step towards proving them dead wrong."
