Yang Rolls Off Line
Young wingback Yang Kuan Keng will kick his professional career off at Turkish Division Six club makimtek, after they laid out S$34000 for the seventeen year-old. makimtek apart, local Division Three club Tampines Phoenix F.C., themselves a proud promoter of youth talent, was in for Yang, together with Grishnak (French Division Six), Pro Mezzana F.C. (Italian Division Nine), Otis' Looney Tunes (Welsh Division Four) and FC STEAUA99 (Romanian Division Six).
The Chicken Wings, currently still undefeated after seven matches and two points off the top of the National Youth League, are turning out to be perhaps the only bright spot of what may be a dark season. Scout Lim Hock Puay hinted at more to come.
"Of the boys currently here, I would single out Sagar Meshram as the one most likely to make it - he is right on track to become the most complete goalkeeper at professional eligibility out of the Wings - well, excepting maybe Fan Lixing."
"Current youth skipper Lin Aik will also be big if he moves to the right club - he's a classic centreback, strong in the air, but with an eye for the right pass too. Loo Tong Woon is similar, and just waiting to reach seventeen, Tan Ping Meng too, but he's a little old by our standards, and there are a few who might well sparkle if given the chance."
