Jungui Joins
In an unexpected development, Grilled signed former heimu XI youth defender
Lin Jungui from Romanian Division Seven club Statisztak in a S$4 million move. The 24 year-old had recently become a regular first-team fixture after six seasons at the club, but angled for a transfer due to a fallout with teammates.
"Lin's a defender from the old school, who prefers to just get the ball away from the back as soon as possible." Grilled coach
Han Lik-Tsun said. "Since we usually let the midfield do the through ball thing, Lin can play a role in our team."
The transfer will add some fresh legs to the defence, as that of
Marc Pujolràs did for the midfield, but may see popular Englishman
Ronny Behr, who is pushing 34 years old, forced out. This has not gone down well with many Grilled squad players, who may be rightly concerned about their own status in the club.
"Behr's done nothing wrong, he had just been a bit slow in training these couple of weeks." former Montenegro youth fullback
Vukota Crkvenjakov complained. "I'm sure Lin is good too, but it is a mistake to cast experience away like that."
