Season Fifteen Preview

by GM-heimu

ChAmPzz (37730)
Incoming Super Power of Singapore

Honours: National Champions - Season 14, Singapore Cup Round 9 - Seasons 12 & 14

Key player(s): Michael Duvfeldt (1721121) & Kalle Hägerflod (4675057)

A team mainly made up of experienced fighters blended with a couple up and coming youths, they're again poised to light up the series.

After last season's impressive debut S-League victory, ChAmpZz will seek a double and maybe the addition of the Singapore Cup to build up on their fine form.

Led by former Sweden U20 international, Kalle Hägerflod (4675057) alongside the exciting and yet predictable Jiang Yah-Lin (39275587), it seems that Wacko's decision of Team Building while remaining in Series II proved to a huge factor in winning the S-League.

A magnificent performance against then league leaders Winning Eleven put the final nail in the coffin, as the team produced a magnificent HATstat rating of 340, really dares anyone to underestimate their ambition to retain the S-League for Season 15.

Overall ChAmPzz have a team which any coach would be envious of, a very balanced team in terms of the tradional 3-5-2 formation, thus the certain advantage of being able to focus their offence on all over the field, and also a very good defence by S-League standards. Again they're the team to beat. Expect them to challenge fiercely for the trophy again!

Winning Eleven (37754)
Not a team to be trifled with!

Honours: National Champions - Season 13, Singapore Cup Winners - Seasons 8 & 11

Key player(s): Nikos Avramidis (4687017) & Lin Jin-Ping (21396988)

Spearheaded by former Singapore National Zang Kai-Chung (4323299), Winning Eleven was on the road to winning consecutive League Championships, but they were dashed of their plans when their 24-game unbeaten streak was followed by a 5-game losing streak.

Winning Eleven actually didn't really do too badly, being only less than 1 point behind ChAmPzz in terms of average Hatstats for Season 14, scoring an impressing 303.71 team rating on average.

In Season 15, we're not expecting a much different Winning Eleven, but we might see a much stronger team with quite an amount of money to spend on the defence, or maybe an even more potent forward.

Herron (37558)
The Frozen Giant.

Honours: National Champions - Seasons 4,6,7,8,9 & 10, Singapore Cup Winners - Seasons 6 & 12

Key player(s): Abd Rauf Mohd Nadzir (4719399) & Shu Chit-Fu (7373552)

Heh I must admit, typing the honours part is a headache for this team. Till now, they still have what it takes to win S-League or the Singapore Cup. A team with a good mix of talented, experienced and world beaters, it's hard to count them out despite being medicore of late.

Herron has Singapore's National Goalkeeper Abd Rauf Mohd Nadzir (4719399) with plenty of experience to offer, and playing in midfield, Nie Yong-chul who can offer plenty of skill and winning of crucial challenges, and a legendary Shu Chit-Fu (7373552) upfront - who left the entire defence eating dust to cash in most of his astonishing 203 career goals in S-League.

What can we say about a team of this calibre? You bet that they will be planning to getting yet another shelf to hold the many trophies which await them in 2006.

Grilled Birds (37759)
What's cooking?

Honours: S-League - 4th in Season 13 & 14, Singapore Cup Winners - Season 14

Key player(s): Shen Kek-Tjiang (8709481) & Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman (8861957)

The newly crowned Singapore Cup winners, they beat a brace of past and potential winners enroute to their first ever major trophy, and more things are expected of them in the upcoming seasons.

Although the soaring Birds don't have many household names in their wonderful squad, the players have proven themselves to be effective and adaptive to bertbert's deployment tactics.

Just 2 seasons ago, Grilled Birds struggled in the S-League and had to relegate to Series II.2 to reform abit. But how fortunes have changed; Nowadays Grilled Birds has sort of become the nation's favourite son. In my opinion they're well equipped to pose a challenge in Season 15 for their first ever S-League title.

Hattrick all the time (37567)
A Dormant Volcano.

Honours: National Champion - Season 5, Singapore Cup Winners - Seasons 3, 5 & 7

Key player(s): Árpád Donát (7227757) & Eric Alley (15298689)

Another one of those S-League big boys with huge history, he has been pretty much semi-active for the past few seasons and everyone is definately looking forward for a comeback soon. And I'm not afraid that personally I pretty much supported them for many seasons before :)

Sorry Borum, I preferred underdogs :P

Founded 4 years ago, in this time pretty much won everything before most of us started, it's an impressive feat to even stay in the S-League for this long. This season they might need to fight even harder as they've a relatively thin squad at this moment and not really alot of money to spare on quality depth. They surely need to pray hard to the HT-Gods to prevent suspensions and injuries to stay competitively over 14 games.

HeroRemix in my opinion is one of those rare top flight trainers whom are willing to try employ extreme tactics to outwit opponents. Also he is a very tactical, experienced and knowledgeable trainer, he's definately no pushover!

P.S. And I think I supported you after Season 7, maybe I was partially at fault for you not winning any trophies after Season 7.. Sorry :( Also, the teams I supported are also pe to speak the truth.

Titus Titanium IV (37623)
To launch a serious challenge for the S-League title!

Honours: S-League - 3rd in Seasons 12 & 13, Singapore Cup Round 7 - Seasons 5, 7, 10 & 14

Key player(s): Tang Chien-Hui (7116001) & Jiu Thuy (14862268)

Just days ago, they announced their great ambitions to challenge for the S-League title, which in my opinion really lights things up, so we have potentially 7 title challengers? :) Judging from their performances in the last few seasons, they kickstarted the series with great results only to falter in the 2nd half of the season. They could really pray for more consistency here.

With Tang Chien-Hui and Jiu Thuy permanant members in the National Team fixtures, zFiRez could do with the wages saved for one more quality addition, which really makes things real hard for the rest of the Series. Being the only team in the S-League boasting only local players, it would be historic if they eventually win the S-League in Season 15.

zFiRez is a member of a famous group of friends consisting of Ultimate NutZ, Shadow Chaser FC, GeostarZ United FC and one or more members whom I unfortunately cannot remember (Please enlighten me on this!). If they convert the opportunities created in their games from their monsterous midfield, they might just win the S-League.

lcfc (37693)
Back with a Vengance!

Honours: S-League - 7th in Season 12, Singapore Cup Semi-Finals Round 10 - Season 13

Key player(s): Neo Nie How (36480870) & Bruno Lagerquist (1577876)

Promoted to S-League with impressive reputation - a perfect 42 points in a series consisting of Singapore Cup finalists FC RaZer Infernus, this is definately not a team coming to S-League for the experience.

Recently sold their team's doctor, Loh Kwun :P They brought in 2 quality players to boost their already talented and quality squad. Also worthy of mention is their ability in the forward department and the recent purchase of playmaker Jia Duy-San - a team to watch for, really.

This time round, eck77 is definately one of the main challengers for the S-League title, as they have a team which can convert most of their chances with their really good offence. It's hard for any S-League team to defend against them.

heimu XI (37890)
You can argue if they're the underdogs or not. :)

Honours: S-League - 1st Attempt Season 15, Singapore Cup Round 8 - Season 13

Key player(s): Shamsul Akmar bin Ismail (30178140) & Stefan Rikardsson (22386351)

Though this little team from Changi won 8 games in a row to edge out Codingin Football Club and Chinatown United for auto-promotion, but they're definately in no condition to play with the big boys judging from their last season Hatstats ratings of 234.29. There may be a ray of hope though with a couple of purchases over the last week, which will definately beef up the squad for the challenges ahead.

I believe that heimu XI is only one of those teams who could really do well having to avoid auto-relegation as their season's objective. Also, heimu XI too faces similar problems like HaTT where they've a really thin squad, and face a possible bankruptcy before the season even starts. Thord Hyquist's long term injury doesn't really helped either.
