Grilled have an abundance of forward-thinking midfielders, but for the unglamorous role of holder and destroyer there is only one - Shen Kek-Tjiang. No one on the current team comes close to touching Shen at this, which has kept him playing all the big games though he has never hit real form.

Did not score in league or Cup in his first thirty-odd appearances, but more than made up for it with the number of attacks he warded off in their infancy. Can be fielded as a defender too in a real crisis, but Grilled have seldom had to do that.

Finally left for Belgium aged 34 as Grilled's appearance record holder by some distance.
