Poignant Finale

Quah saw out his 14-match U-20 career in miserable fashion, though the out-of-contention Singaporean side managed to beat the already-qualified Israeli team at home. Grilled's pride and joy was nowhere near his best on wet grass, and was mostly a spectator for long stretches as the visitors bypassed midfield.

Quah acknowledged the fact that noted local Division Three club Shingen's Marauders had initiated talks with Grilled on a possible transfer, but stated that he would prefer to stay put for a while yet. "Shingen have a fresh side and a great reputation for grooming wingers, like U-20 senior Ma Manh-Huy."

"Despite that, it'll always be hard to leave as long as the manager wants me to stay, which I'm told he does. I'm very comfortable with the playing style here at Grilled, and am gunning for a regular spot."
