Twice The Show

In an innovative bit of marketing, Grilled billed the Metro FC vs Scyb's Dream Team and Falmer Now Mr Prescott! vs Full Metal Jacket friendlies as a single event, with only one ticket required to access both consecutive games. Heavy rain and the fact that Metro and Falmer had recently been here conspired to lower sales, unfortunately.

Metro FC had it easy against Scyb, who had fallen 1-5 to Falmer in their clash at the ThaiThai stadium. Finnish striker Martti Miettinen drew upon his years of soccer to scheme out a brace, while Scyb's captain Oscar Griffiths got his marching orders near the end. It ended 3-1 to Metro.

More viewers began to trickle in as the rain reduced in intensity, and Falmer Now Mr Prescott! eventually had over 3800 spectators for their battle with Full Metal Jacket. Full Metal Jacket, in red and white, won majority possession with a strange 2-6-2 but were unable to make it count. Falmer took the lead through Bobby Gough in the 23rd minute and never relinquished it, though Tommy Dunford's 80th minute strike made it 3-2 and a testing final ten minutes for them.
