Hong Kong Nips It

Quah Han Kok won his second U-20 cap in central midfield against Hong Kong, but had limited influence on the outcome as Singapore's defensive 5-3-2 butted heads with a similarly holed-in 4-5-1 from the Special Administrative Region. "we didn't want to lose more than we wanted to win," Quah grumbled. "The coach said it was for the training."

With attackers usually being outnumbered more than three to one, the action was mainly centered on shoving and barging, and Hong Kong winger Gong En-Lai and goalie Jia Say-Chuan were badly bruised within the first twenty minutes. The friendly was settled in the 66th minute through Germany-based forward Liang Jee-Win's strike for Hong Kong on his international debut.
