Now Who's Cheap?
Tim Hobson is the toast of the town after having hit four past Winners 90 in the season opener, but he dedicated his achievement to coach
Qi Haupai, calling him his mentor and "the only coach who believed in me". The S$12500 forward took the opportunity to lash out at his critics, who questioned Haupai's reliance on a "young, brash and unproven player."
"I think four in one game should answer most of their questions," Hobson said. "As long as I play wholeheartedly, I think I can mix it up with the very best. I know I am not the most gifted of players, but I run hard and shoot hard, and often that works." Derided as a liability for his penchant to pick up cards for his uncompromising play and feared to be injury prone when he hurt his hamstring on August 4, Hobson has certainly made a resounding comeback. "My target for this season is to win the Golden Boot for myself and the league for my team." Hobson declared.
