Meepok Repeat
Machado Consoles
The overhaul was not enough as Grilled were edged by Meepok's Heroes for the second time in two weeks, as their new German forward Micha Schindel captured the match for them after
Ricard Machado appeared to have split the honours.
Grilled didn't last the first half, falling to Meepok defender Tsang Chu-chuen on an unexpected counterattack, as Ong Tan was run ragged by Md Ali bin Sulong on his side. Dirty play from the Birds marred the game, as Martinsson intentionally took out Chi Ka-ta and
Chen Chiew-Yen showed his temper too. Tuan-Mu's open sight of goal was the best opportunity Grilled threw up, but rightback Lee Lau-Po went in hard.
The two sides traded blows in rollicking second period, as
Hang Bao-Tam was at his best to deny Loh E-Zu from putting his side further in front with a highly technical volley.
Chen Chiew-Yen almost had a wonder goal late on, tracing a twenty-metre cannonball just over the top.
Attacking midfielder
Ricard Machado then hit home
Gao Seng-kar's dipping cross with eight minutes remaining, but Meepok's Heroes had withheld their own ace in the form of Schindel, who gave Bao-Tam no hope with a solidly-placed screamer right into the inside of the far post.
