Tzonkov, a former Bulgarian U-20 centreback, value-adds with stints in the water-carrier role, where he is helped by a deceptive turn of pace. After spending the bulk of his career in the middle divisions of Denmark, he felt long overdue for a shot at glory.

While it was not to be, Tzonkov did regain some of his best form for the Birds, with his pace a welcome hidden ace in Grilled's preferred light defence. That paved the way back to his first club Echigo Dragons, where he still enjoys the adulation of the fans.
