Titanium Melted
Triple Double
Grilled paid tribute to their supporters with one of their most exciting S-League victories ever, as they massacred the visiting Titus Titanium IV 8-2 at The Cooking Pot.
It was unthinkable that that would be the final score in the tenth minute, as Titus went ahead through the left foot of German rightback Mark Vincent Hefferle, who somehow found himself drifing into the left winger's position. The Birds didn't take long to reply through
Lorenz Paullin, and Paullin then scuffed the ball in to give Grilled a slightly fortunate lead.
Grilled then took the game into their own hands, and
Shen Kek-Tjiang's through pass, who appeared to be going harmlessly through to the goalie, was blocked into the space in front of Kadak. The Estonian happily took it past Yukpui, and Quah increased the lead to 4-1 before half-time.
Most of Grilled's fans would have settled for this after two dull defeats, but there was much more to come, if not before Mart Hirv added spice to the game by peeling free of stand-in central defender
Lee Jie Siong to pull Titus a goal back.
That was but a moment's reprive for the visitors, as Martinsson predicted Borup's raking long ball from defence, and took it all the way. Borup nearly did it again a few minutes later, but this time Martinsson's legs failed him.
Speed was never an issue for Quah, though, and none of the Titus defenders dared to stop his maniac dash straight at goal in the 82nd minute, leaving the midfielder to send the ball between Yukpui's legs to score.
Fredgård and Kadak then had the final words, as they gave the Grilled faithful a night to savour.
