4317 fans braved the pouring rain at Glæsifell. Tobias Higginbotham was the appointed referee with assistance provided by František Toth and Claudio Gaggi. The pitch was a disaster, due to all the rain. This spelled problems for the more sophisticated players, who usually could rely on speed or technique. For those relying on grit and strength, it actually meant an edge. The following players took the field for Akranes: Overdreef - Freymundsson, Capone, Klemensson - Björnsson, Brynjólfsson, Árnason, Leonsson, Harðarson - Opstrup, Sigvaldason.

Glæsir Akranes fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+6) (26) level with that tactic. 14 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Lim An Keng, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. After 26 minutes, Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Grilled came close to extending their lead as Mohd Marzuki Khairul delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 32 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave Gústav Thoroddsen a quick hug as he left the field. Gústav Thoroddsen of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 51 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Aw Keng Chuan reluctantly made way for Teo Chuan Yong on the pitch. With 61 minutes played, Damian Hutter nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Grilled's Hwang Teck Fu made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 62 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Erling Harðarson of Akranes received a yellow card after 66 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 71 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Hwang Teck Fu. Búi Freymundsson twisted his arm after 76 minutes, forcing Akranes to make a substitution. The replacement for the injured player was Franco Rodolfo Hatserian. Ísak Björnsson was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Jón Brynjólfsson seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. The visitors' Chia Kwang Tse took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 80 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Grilled. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Gísli Sigvaldason from Akranes a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 81 minutes, Cameron Law suffered a slight injury to his left calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Damian Hutter off the field. Bilal Mohammad Harun took his place. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 70 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Akranes player was without a doubt Franco Rodolfo Hatserian. However, Atoapem Capone made a disastrous appearance. Chia Kwang Tse performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, Bilal Mohammad Harun's play was disheartening.
