It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 4-5-1. Grilled showed off their world class (13) creative tactics.
Fatheddine Rached sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
Abderraouf El-Bakhat after 10 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1. 16 minutes into the match, Grilled's
Aw Keng Chuan maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. 17 minutes in, Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 20 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
Chan Ze Han, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. With 21 minutes gone, Grilled had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
Mohd Marzuki Khairul did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
Hwang Teck Fu increased the lead for Grilled to 3 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Halftime score was 3 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
Grilled managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when
Gandhik Chitre cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Coming from the right,
Gandhik Chitre almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan increasing the lead to 5 - 1. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
Paulino Trindade somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Mohd Marzuki Khairul, who struck for 6 - 1. With 77 minutes played, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Chan Ze Han off the field.
Teo Chuan Yong took his place. With
Chan Ze Han no longer on the pitch,
Teo Chuan Yong took over free kick duty.
Teo Chuan Yong was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty that
Teo Chuan Yong turned into 7 - 1 without a problem. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let
Gilbert Webb replace
Damian Hutter after 89 minutes.
Radovan Jaška left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
Bhavya Panigrahi was the replacement. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 7 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Aw Keng Chuan.
Gilbert Webb on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important K.A.C.M player was
Zeineddine Tazi. On the other hand,
Nabil Masousi's play was disheartening.
