Grilled Birds 3 - 0 Robbie Football Club

The 75696 spectators at The Cooking Pot were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Stefan Kuzev was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Freddy Møller and Bjørn Koppang. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. The derby had been the talk of Jurong all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Lineup: Dob - Webb, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Davlatov, Xin Seng, Mohammad Harun, Romijn - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

The following players took the field: Vella - Rong Yao, Beraczka, Jensen, Mohd Hazmi - Cebreiros, Holm, Ravi, Sandmann, Lamont - Ärm.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Robbie Football Club has decided to play a 4-5-1 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+3) level with that tactic. Football was determined to use their world class long shot ability. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Florus Romijn, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Kalki Parvathaneni squirmed through their central defence after 13 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Bilal Mohammad Harun went down after twisting his right ankle after 25 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was Chu Xin Lee. Football focused on finding shooting opportunities from distance and after 30 minutes Antti Ravi fired off the big cannon, but the shot went sailing over the cross bar and into the car park. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

Moey Xin Seng could have increased the lead after 51 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. After 58 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Chu Xin Lee might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Thomas Vella made a spectacular save. After 67 minutes Cyril Künzler made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to Florus Romijn who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 3 - 0. Grilled's Chan Ze Han saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 71 minutes. Gilbert Webb received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 79 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Islom Davlatov should probably have put his team up another goal after 81 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Thomas Vella kept the visitors in the game. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid after 89 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Prokop Mottl replace Florus Romijn after 89 minutes. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 3 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Kalki Parvathaneni. Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid turned in a dismal performance, however. Egert Ärm performed admirably for Football. However, Mohd Hafizi Mohd Hazmi made a disastrous appearance.
