Tibor At Attention
Grilled International refreshed their youth ranks this afternoon, as they welcomed German attacker
Tibor Atzenhain to the squad, with fellow seventeen year-old Hj Jaiz bin Luqman heading for the exit. Atzenhain, a S$1.13 million signing from Hamburgian Division Three side kogge, would claim the Number 23 shirt previously belonging to László Kammer.
Formerly a standout with Zicke-Zacke Hühnerkacke's youth setup, the Jungbroilers, Atzenhain has already amassed four full games with kogge, with his stock only rising after a fine brace against Curaçao side Willemstad F.C. in a friendly. There would be a protracted tussle with another German third division side - Toni Rangers - for his favour, but International's persuasion eventually got them their way.
"Tibor's a first-rate talent, and there's no question of him coming to sit on the bench." chief scout Zulfadly bin Hj Ratano insisted. "We will have him joining in on competitive matches, as soon as is feasible, which won't be long."
Etheric City (English Division Four) had also been ardent admirers of the tall Atzenhain, who has been very comfortable operating both as an out-and-out striker, and in a deeper-lying role. The full list of interested parties was long and distinguished: Hernalser Füchse (Austrian H.I. Division Five), Koprolalisten FC (Swiss Division Three), Headless Chicken (Finnish Division Four), Aktepe SK (Turkish Division Six), Tequila house (Italian Division Four), FK.Snina (Slovakian Division Five), courtryfc (French Division Three), City Select (English Division Six), Fc Volpiano 2007 (Italian Division Six), Apocalípsis (Argentine Division Five), Gijsinho Jorisovic (Dutch Division Six) and former Hong Kong Sapphire Challenger Cup holders youyouteam.
Central defender Hj Jaiz bin Luqman, on the other hand, would be headed to California to link up with Division Five leaders East Bay Punk Mafia. MT 3Balls (Portuguese Division Six), F.C Twenthe (Dutch Division Six), Wadkanok (Hungarian Division Six) and Fc Daria (Romanian Division Six) were the other clubs that contacted Grilled International about the stout youngster, for whom Adinath Pant prophesied a productive career.
"He's the best defender we've seen at the Busy Bees for some time." Pant praised. "Size and muscle has always been a concern with players from our region, but with Jaiz, there will be no worries on that end."
Grilled Birds and Farmer Bunnies also had trainee defenders leave, as they released Ching Yun Jia, 18, and Lee How Teck, 17, respectively on free transfers. Ching will join Dutch Division Six newcomers doorzagers, together with Polish recruit Jarosław Kisiel, while Lee's new home will be with Chilean VI.758 side Sport Juridico F.K.
