Bao Jiak
Austrian Division Five team RH_Devils brought 17 year-old Grilled academy graduate Dante Bao on as a free transfer today. Bao had been an ArseVikings fan who hadn't gotten past their trials, but Chicken Wings scout Mok Feng De saw something in the slightly-built lad. Mok's faith was repaid, as Bao developed into a composed winger, whose greatest asset may well be his match intelligence.
"Dante's not the type to blow defenders away with pure pace." senior midfielder
José Luiz Velho agreed. "However, that's often not the best way to go about things anyway. He's always looking out to use his teammates and bring them into play, which tends to be more effective at higher levels."
This was also a big day for another Wings alumni, as Leong Heng Choon snagged a S$5.4 million move to ambitious Division Three club St. Xavier's FC, having spent two seasons at Tampines Phoenix F.C., mostly at wingback. Xaviers followers are wondering if this represents a shift in François Goncalves' priorities, after key attackers in László Stoll and Jukka Alanen had been sold recently.
