Grilled Birds 10 - 1
REPI
Repitation In Tatters
Triple Trick
Grilled will enter Division Three in high spirits as they flattened Finnish Division Four champions REPI at home before their adoring fans, with the light rain barely an obstacle.
REPI had endured only three defeats, and won a whopping 25 matches last season, including their latest friendly against fellow Finnish side FC Mätisäkki, so it must have been disconcerting for them to be so comprehensively outplayed.
Tim Hobson's 13th minute header from Dewilde's deep cross could have been looked upon as an aberration, but time and again the REPI players found themselves a couple of moves behind, and by the time half-time came they were five goals behind, with Tim adding another, Shen heading in too, and Chen netting a late brace.
Chen wasted no time in staking claim to a hat-trick, even if he did appear to push Uusitalo down in his rush to get to Seng-kar's pass. The referee took no notice, which Jari Litmanen took pains to point out after he was booked for a similar act in the 67th minute.
Shen was next to do the trick, thanks to some generous passing from Hobson, with Chen boosting his tally to four. Zhan was finally booked after a series of petty fouls was followed by an unforgivably late one, and Hobson joined the party with a late penalty after Matti Niemi pulled one back for REPI.
