Jess These Girls

Grilled Birds went three for four on the first day of the Supporter Week Trophy, with Yemeni II.1 entrants R. Jessness Girls conquering them 3-1 in the final game of the day. The recent Al Yaman Consolation Cup winners' eleven-game competitive win streak was not for show, as Romanian former Golden Boot winner Rudolf Chiţimia struck a brace, that left Chia Kwang Tse's 39th minute slam past Rami Al-Shami a mere consolation.

The three previous games were mostly a stroll, that said, with Israeli IV.117 side petah tikva stars the first victims, to two each from Chad Thach and Hwang Teck Fu. Portuguese III.16 club BlackMetal Team came closer but fell 3-5 to a late comeback bookended by Aw Keng Chuan's stoppage-time boomer, with ten goals to come in a 7-3 victory over Romanian VI.884 participants Dinamo77PCH. Thach was again irrepressible with a hat-trick, while Hein Thiha Pyae Ko's bad habit of own goals continued with an inadvertent stab past Radomil Marcol in the 78th minute.

"Yeah, Hein should try that more at the other end." Tian Yonghang joked.

Farmer Bunnies started slow with a nil-all against Chilean IV.43 side Maite YC, before getting tonked 0-2 by two-time former Consolation Cup holders Lambada Jerycho of the Palestine II.2. Ironically, it was a Singaporean that did them in, with former GrayWolves FC trainee Yeo Cheng Chin volleying two past Gilberto Sorondo, by the 28th minute.

It did get better, and the Buns picked up their first win against more Chilean opposition in V.90 promotees zarrapastrosa FC, even if it did take an own goal by young Taiwanese expat Kabul Gonzales, who redirected Prakash Bhujbal's drive past German Number One Claudio Bravov. Bunnies than claimed a huge scalp - that of Bangladeshi Premier League runners-up Vinoholics International, with Ong Li Jing first supplying Dušan Václavík in the 61st minute, before himself feasting on Gabriel Priebe's 77th minute corner.

Ong was beside himself after the achievement, which Václavík insisted he fully deserved. "He changed the game from the right wing today."

Grilled International started out with the loss before their three wins, and it was a hard one too, 1-7 to Icelandic II.2 battlers Red Star Club Myvatn. They simply never got a grip on this match despite Ghanem Ben Mimoun covering Akın Kuloğlu's 19th minute opener, and El Salvadorean Number Ten Esteban Montes would pile on the hurt with two goals in the last three minutes.

If it was a wake up call, International showed little signs of a convincing revival, as they needed substitute Minür Nurettin Tütsü's anticipation of Snæbjörn Sigfússon's cross in the 61st minute to steal the win against Finnish VI.813 side Olympico Vanda. They then got going with a 6-0 thrashing of Brazillian VII.193 entrants Mzr Club via Egidius van der Duin hat-trick, with Egidius also getting things going in their 4-1 over Dutch VI.848 club Leverboys United.
