The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Grilled Birds, went for a 2-5-3, while Greek Juniors has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their divine (+7) (27) ability to focus their attacks down the middle. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Many thought
Chia Kwang Tse ought to have been awarded a penalty 2 minutes into the match, as he went down trying to beat
Stephen Żammit after an attack through the middle gave him the one-on-one opportunity. Grilled created a good opportunity to score 10 minutes into the game when
Mohd Marzuki Khairul's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, but the visitors' defenders eventually won out.
Gandhik Chitre gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball at the keeper's right post – what a clinical finish! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Twisted Metal F.C. tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. The crowd was silenced 49 minutes into the match as the visiting team's
Savvas Vartholomaiou came in from the left, tying the game up at 1 - 1. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for
Mohd Marzuki Khairul to get the go-ahead goal with 54 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 57 minutes played, but
Chad Thach's cross from the left flank was met gratefully by the opposition who cleared it to safety. Juniors caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 58 minutes into the game.
Miguel Antonio Moragas was there to finish off the move - 1 - 2! With 65 minutes on the clock, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han found an opening in the visitors' left side, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. A crazy pass by
Chad Thach towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for Juniors, but
Michalis Katsellis didn't get the finish right.
70 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Teo Chuan Yong came on for
Chan Ze Han. With the clock showing 70 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Hong Kang Leong looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Damian Hutter, though he would have liked to continue. With
Hong Kang Leong no longer on the field,
Teo Chuan Yong was the new set pieces taker.
Michalis Katsellis increased the visitors' lead by volleying in a pass from the right. 1 - 3. After 87 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Chad Thach off.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 1 - 3. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 55 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
Grilled's best player was
Lim An Keng. Good thing
Teo Chuan Yong isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Juniors's top performer was clearly
Przemysław Kleszcz. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Sotiris Filipou seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
