Fu Forced Out
The long-suffering reserves gave a better account of themselves as they held Spanish club rsca73 to just one goal at the break, but the second half was more of the usual, and the match ended five to nothing. Grilled moved
Mustaffa Kamal bin Mohamed into defence in place of the injured Tuan-Mu, and gave
Fu Dijiang another go in midfield, but it all ended in tears for the new inclusion as he got crocked before half-time.
The Grilled second team went all out early on, and a hard challenge by Mirchev set the tone for what had been a fairly sedate contest. The foul looked innocous enough, but when the Italian captain began screaming whilst clutching his shin, it was clear that something was horribly wrong. Caltabiano would need two months to recover, and substitute Maximilian Jägermeister showed his support for his fallen captain with a shove to Mirchev at the first opportunity.
Grilled stood their ground as rsca73 attacked unceasingly, and should have gone behind when Trevijan scooped a ball neatly through to Gunnar Johansson. The forward didn't quite seem to expect that, as he spent a couple of seconds sorting his feet out from beneath himself, before unleashing a powerful effort into the crossbar.
The home side redoubled their efforts after that close shave, and two minutes later they went in front. Defender Eduardo Pipó worked his way methodically past the entire right defence, before putting the ball over Bao-Tam. Pipó would not be out of the limelight for long, as he went in hard on
Fu Dijiang as the midfielder spearheaded a rare Grilled counterattack. The partisan crowd had little sympathy as Fu was carted off, no doubt remembering what had happened to Caltabiano.
Newly promoted Zulkifee bin Othman took his place, but looked quite lost as the game passed him by. rsca73's defenders were well schooled in supporting the attack, and José Bou tested Bao-Tam with a stinging grounder from just within the penalty area, wide to the right. Bao-Tam used his legs to great effect, and warded it off for a corner.
Grilled might have thought they were in with a shout as Bao-Tam rolled back the years to come out with a brilliant one-handed save from Sergio González six minutes into the second half, but were frustratingly unable to string three passes together in the opposition half. That tardiness would be punished, as one mistake led to a swift riptose through the middle. Marçal Trevijan dodged a worthy tackle by Huihong before squeezing his shot past the Grilled keeper.
Two-nil was still quite a respectable scoreline, but the Birds were unable to hang on to even that. Viljo Noorik made it three with an admirable bit of stop-start dribbling that had Mustaffa Kamal left for dead, and after that got the fourth too with a sharp bit of poaching. Jägermeister rounded a beaten Bao-Tam for a fifth, before Hjortlind ensured that Grilled left the place with even fewer friends as he mean-spiritedly cut down a defender after being outjumped for a header.
