Given To Diven

Grilled's victory would be part of a 3-0 sweep of the Cuban II.1, with Sarcastic Fringeheads maintaining a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Real Epomeo II, that owed much to goalkeeper Artur Rosa Gomes Oliveira. -= Manchester United =- smashed SG Los Bandidas 4-1 to round it out, after being gifted an early boost in the form of a seventh minute penalty, duly converted by Radim Chvátal.

Moey Xin Seng would graciously acknowledge Pavel Starostenko's performance. "We might have won, but he had me worried for some moments there. I haven't seen many out-and-out strikers as effective as him, in my career."

III.9 continued dominating the Battle for Division III tourney with a fourth straight win, this a 5-0 total wipeout of III.7. Kungfu 11 and The Sing Tigers didn't have it all their way, but edged Red Freaking Chillies and International CAT F.C. by three goals to two in their respective matches. Bukit Gombak versus Atlethic Pi and Team Boba versus Durian Lovers United were hardly as close, and ended in 3-0s for the III.9 representatives.

Farmer Bunnies' own addition would be a 2-0 over East Coast club GrayWolves FC, currently in their second revival after previously being known as SKF F.C.. First-half counterattacking goals by Vishnu Tallapaka and Djoko Tambusai were more than enough against the hardworking but perhaps slightly naive Wolves, and Kostadinović would just be relieved that a late tackle by Chok Chu Chun on Tham Leng Teck would be mostly avoided by the Buns legend.

The Buns would have more to be pleased about, as their bank account would be nicely topped up by their originating club's fee for former youth trainee Phua Qiang Wen; the 21 year-old went from local Division Two side Moeinsingapore, to Maltese III.8 side Lokomotiv Pannocchia, for over S$15.2 million. Phua has, of course, been making a name for himself in the national youth team, with eleven caps collected already.

There would only be gloom for Grilled International, however, as they had to contend with going from leading the table from just two weeks ago, to languishing in the bottom half after a 2-4 home loss to Male Diven. Mats-Ove Almstad blitzed their backline in the second minute as Diven absolutely tore the International defence apart, to go 4-0 up by the 28th minute. Rallied by Safari bin Hj Jali, they would slowly claw a couple of goals back, but it wasn't enough.

Didi Reidenbach, like Hilal Bakhtiar, has come under heavy criticism from the fanbase, and the formerly-popular Swiss gaffer could only plead for time to right the ship. "This was a fluke, really."
