Youth Exodus
A number of Singaporean and Bruneian lads would enter the professional ranks proper today, as the various Grilled clubs presided over their transfers. Israeli IV.62 side DARK LEGIONS would draw from both the Birds and the Buns, with wide players Wan Wadi Harith and Teo Kiong Fu signing with them, from the respective clubs. Scouts had described the 17 year-old Wan as a long shot to make it, with his natural pace being his main saving grace. Teo, a year older, would score rather better with the pundits, but his age nonetheless may yet work against him.
It would be a triple transfer for Grilled International, with 18 year-old wingers Che Mohamed Khairul Helmi and Johari bin Hj Maududi Hilmi finally concluding their long searches, which has lasted well over two months in Johari's case. Che would be picked up by active Spanish fourth divisioners A.C. Catalunya, while Johari went to former German Bundesliga champions, Uni Kiel. Uni Kiel's glory days are long past, though, as they currently languish in the seventh division.
This did not diminish Johari's newfound enthusiasm, as he vowed to brush up on the illustrious history of his new side. "Who would have thought?"
As for 17 year-old multifaceted attacker Hj Azim bin Hj Azri, he would be the target of a brief tug-of-war between Italian Division Seven outfit Atletico Bianchina, and Turkish Division Six club TR İSTANBUL. After weighing the options, Hj Azim elected to become TR İSTANBUL's second-ever signing, after Argentine trainee goalkeeper Héctor Walter De Angelis.
"I thought it would be better to be part of something entirely new." Hj Azim explained. "Mr. Güler promised playing time aplenty, and he was easy to believe."
